Answers for buyers and sellers on JY Store: orders and returns, setting up a shop, listing properly, shipping with J&T, keeping price and stock up to date, running promotions, and how the money reaches you.

Before you list anything physical: fill in the weight and the size. The shipping price is calculated from them, and a blank or guessed weight is the single most common reason a seller ends up out of pocket on postage.

For customers

Shopping on JY Store, and what happens if an order goes wrong.

For sellers

Open your shop in three steps

1
About 2 minutes

Create the account

Register with your email, then verify who you are. Individuals use their NRIC. Sole proprietors and companies also give their SSM registration number.

2
About 5 minutes

Set up the shop

Add your logo, your banner and your pickup address. The pickup address is what J&T collects from, so get it right the first time.

3
Then you are open

List and sell

Add products with photos, price and stock. Once they are approved they are live and buyers can order.

What a good listing has

  • Title: brand, model, then the spec. Write what someone would actually type to find it
  • Photos: square, around 800 by 800 pixels, three to six of them
  • Stock: keep it honest, because selling what you do not have means cancelling on the buyer
  • Category: pick the closest one, or the product will not show up where people look
  • Weight and size: required for anything physical, and used to price the postage

What may not be listed

  • Drugs and controlled substances
  • Weapons, ammunition and explosives
  • Counterfeits, replicas and anything infringing a trademark
  • Adult material
  • Anything needing a licence you do not hold
A listing that breaks these is taken down. Repeat or serious cases suspend the shop.

Shipping a physical product

Orders ship through J&T Express, arranged by the platform.

  • Handling time: each product carries its own, which you set. Ship within it
  • Consignment note: generated for you. Print it from your dashboard
  • Handover: attach the note and pass the parcel to J&T
  • Tracking: updates by itself once J&T scans the parcel
Weight and dimensions are not optional. If they are missing or wrong the buyer is quoted the wrong postage, and the difference comes out of your settlement.

Selling digital goods

Codes, PINs, top-ups and vouchers can be sold alongside physical products in the same shop.

Digital goods need approval before you can list them, so send the request early. Once a code has been delivered it cannot be refunded, which is why the description has to be exact.

Put this in the description

  • Region it works in
  • What the buyer receives: a code, a PIN, an account
  • How and when it is delivered
  • When it expires, and anything it will not work with

Update price & stock in bulk

Sellers can update many products' price and stock at once with a CSV file, instead of editing each product one by one.

  1. Download the latest CSV template from the Price & Stock page.
  2. Do not rename the sku or variant_sku columns.
  3. Enter numeric price and stock values only. A value of 0 is accepted; text or symbols are not.
  4. Upload the completed CSV.
  5. Review the success/failure summary shown after upload.
  6. A row with even one invalid cell is rejected in full -- nothing in that row is saved, so the rest of your catalogue is never at risk from one bad line.
  7. Correct the rejected rows and upload again. Rows that already succeeded do not need to be re-uploaded.

Run a promotion

A shop-wide promotion applies a percentage discount to every product in your shop automatically, for the dates you choose.

  • Create a promotion from the Promotions page and set the discount percentage and the start/end dates.
  • The discount applies automatically at checkout for every matching product -- you do not need to edit each product's price.
  • Only one discount applies per product at a time; discounts are never stacked.
  • You can deactivate a promotion at any time; prices return to normal immediately.

How and when you get paid

  1. 1 The buyer receives the parcel

J&T records the delivery and the order closes on its own.

  2. 2 The money is held for 7 days

It is yours, but not yet touchable. The wait exists so a buyer who received the wrong thing still has a way back.

  3. 3 It becomes available

After 7 days with no open dispute, the amount moves into your available balance, less the platform fee.

  4. 4 You withdraw it

Request a transfer to your bank account. One request a week, no minimum, and JY Store charges nothing to do it.

How much does the platform take?

A 7% commission on the value of a successful order. Nothing to list, nothing monthly, and nothing on an order that is cancelled or refunded.

JY Store does not charge one. Your bank may, depending on the account. Withdrawals can be requested once a week and there is no minimum amount.

Common questions

Does it cost anything to open a shop?
No. Registering, opening the shop and listing products are all free. The platform only earns when an order goes through.
Do I need an SSM registration?
Not to sell as an individual. Individuals verify with their NRIC. If you register as a sole proprietor or a company, you also give the business registration number. Everyone gives a tax identification number and a bank account for payouts.
Can I sell physical and digital products in the same shop?
Yes. Choose the right type when you upload, because the two are handled differently. Digital goods need approval before they can go live.
What if I cannot ship in time?
Tell the buyer before the deadline rather than after. Most people are fine with a delay they were warned about. If you cannot fulfil it at all, cancel it early so they can buy elsewhere.
Is there a fee to withdraw?
JY Store does not charge one. Your bank may, depending on the account. Withdrawals can be requested once a week and there is no minimum amount.
